A few later bosses are seperated into their own stage, or short mini-stage of sorts so you don't have to do all that to refight them, but it really stands out for the early ones for sure. Even when rushing from start to finish, just due towards the talking that prevents you from interacting/using assists, you end up still taking like ~20+mins on some stages. Stage replay stuck till you beat the game is pretty limiting, but what's worse is outright how replay works where there's so much unskippable shit in stages that drags on.
